Controversial aid from U.S Soldiers

Posted on Sunday September 5th by The Los Angeles Times, the Headline "U.S Soldiers help repel deadly attack on Iraq army headquarters" grew great spur among readers because the attack helped made by the United States troops was done five days after our United States President Barack Obama, declared an end to combat operations in Iraq. Even more fuss was made when it was official that there were eighteen casualties and thirty-nine injuries and no casualties included any Americans. The United States not only provided hands on aid but also helicopters, bomb disposal experts, and other unspecified reconnaissance. Now Americans are afraid that since combat is obviously yet not over, that now that there was experience in combat after a long time and after such declaration from the President on Tuesday, that this can be an on going situation and that American troops will be caught up in violent combat operations in Iraq more often. Definitely more questioning has overthrown Americans minds when after the suicidal bombing on August 17th occurred killing forty-eight it seems much more evident that Iraq has not yet secured their capital enough to manage it completely and that they will be asking for American aid soon enough. American soldiers are with no doubt tempted to fight in combat for any given reason now that declarations were only made but actions will be taken until 2011 when the United States troops finally head out back home.

  1. As,Commander-in-Chief, President Barack Obama promised us Operation New Dawn, where several troops will stay to stabilize that Iraqi government not to bomb it to the stone age like foreign terrorist. Happening under Operation New Dawn, "A transitional force of U.S. troops will remain to advise and assist Iraqi forces, protect our civilians on the ground, and pursue targeted counterterrorism efforts," wrote Obama to every American in his mailing list including myself. It is devastating to read about Americans becoming a terror to the people in Iraq. The rest of the troops won't be back home until the end of 2011, that means if the troops have to fight to protect the 'civilians on the ground' that means the fight still continues. Once Americans are off Iraqi soil combat will be over. One side may attack the other and vice versa. It is not much a surprise that the opposing combat groups are still bombing each other, it is going to continue until the day Americans leave. That may not happen soon if we get fed up and start attacking them more fiercely. This event just shows the war is still on, but we need it to stop! It will choke the United States out of money in this Recession.

  2. President Obama did say that the troops were going to be taken out until the end of 2011. While the troops are there, President Obama said that they American troops will be there to help the forces of Iraq. Obviously the Iraq headquarters needed help, so the Americans 'came to the rescue.' It's kind of strange that after a 7-year war, we are now helping the enemy. I really don't know what to say, I just hope that we don't stay there long enough for another war to initiate again.

  3. All these smart comments make me feel good! (:
I definately agree with both of you. Recession plus the continuation of war equals above and beyond the suffocation of the entire nation.
